Welcome from the Director

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Marion Philharmonic’s 50th anniversary season, one which abounds with riveting and beautiful music.  Encapsulated in this brochure is our commitment to provide Grant County with family-friendly programming and compelling orchestral performances.  Additionally, you will find our smaller ensembles performing in untraditional venues. Together, we’ll travel the cosmos in October as the MPO performs many of your favorite sci-fi motion picture film scores, including selections from Star WarsStar Trek, and Back to the Future.  Bring the entire family to enjoy the festive sounds of the season with our Holiday Traditions program.  In March, we welcome the gold medalist of the 2018 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Richard Lin, to perform Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.  Finally, we close our 2019-20 season with an all-Beethoven program, celebrating the 250th anniversary of one of our greatest composers.

As we honor the 50thanniversary of this marvelous orchestra, we wish to thank you, our patrons, for allowing us to flourish through your continued support. Our musicians’ commitment to excellence will inspire you to even greater heights through their impassioned performances. If you are not already a subscriber, we invite you to join the Marion Philharmonic family today and let us fill your hearts with the greatest music ever written.  Welcome to our 2019-20 season!

Sincerely,

Matthew Kraemer
